Stacy’s Bio
Stacy began practicing yoga in 1988 before it was a household word or a kind of clothing. She teaches with humor and warmth as she adapts the practice to the class or the student in front of her. Stacy earned her MA in adult education and has extensive experience teaching postures, yoga philosophy, yoga for deep relaxation, and therapeutic yoga (for those with cancer, AIDS, depression, anxiety, back pain, and chronic fatigue). She teaches and practices in the tradition of Krishnamacharya and studies with her teacher, Kate Holcomb, a student of Mr. TKV Desikachar.
Melissa’s Bio
Melissa Middlebrook
was born to move. She has over 30 years of experience in the movement arts including yoga, modern dance, improvisation, Continuum, and developmental movement patterning. She came to yoga in the late 1980’s and has studied with many teachers including one of Seattle’s best and longest reigning yoga teachers, Marie Svoboda. Most recently her teachers have been Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten, two other yoga greats. Melissa’s teaching centers on her belief that people need space to connect with their own bodies and innate wisdom. To that end, she offers tools such as playful movement with imagery to help people into the asanas in a safe and organic way.
Melissa lives in the neighborhood with her husband, daughter, and puppy. You’ll often see her sipping coffee next door at Muse and volunteering at Coe Elementary School.
Suzanne’s Bio
Suzanne Stephens specializes in teaching yoga that empowers students to be the best they can be in and out of the studio. She uses asana, pranayama, meditation, self-study &/or ritual individually and in combination to create wonderful practices. Living with Multiple Sclerosis, Suzanne’s used the practice of yoga to remain healthy and positive. Her enthusiasm is contagious.
Suzanne is a 500 hour Certified Yoga Teacher, trained in the Viniyoga traditon, by Tracy Weber of Whole Life Yoga. Suzanne also writes and posts videos online to encourage students to practice on and off the mat. Visit her at http://tiny.cc/yogaempowered.
Sarah G’s Bio
Sarah Green began practicing yoga in 1998 while living in North Carolina. She has since explored and practiced many types of yoga with many wonderful and inspiring teachers. She is a certified Yoga Works instructor which is an intelligent approach to teaching yoga, blending the Iyengar, Ashtanga and Viniyoga traditions. She was drawn to the Yoga Works program because of its beliefs that yoga is for everyone and can be truly transformational. She feels genuinely honored to share the gift of yoga.
Regina’s Bio
Regina has practiced yoga since 1998. From the first time she tried yoga, she fell in love with the peace of mind it gave her. Regina was inspired to teach yoga in order to share the joy she personally found from practicing it. She completed her 200-hour teacher training at Samadhi Yoga in 2005, and is currently enrolled in a 500-hour teacher-training program at 8 Limbs Yoga. She has studied with variety of inspiring teachers over the years including Kathleen Hunt, Sarah Powers, Angela Farmer, and Donna Fahri.
Marian’s Bio
Marian began practicing yoga years ago as a way to cultivate mental and physical strength simultaneously. She is drawn to the way yoga merges mind, body, and breath and creates a positive flow of energy. Marian has worked with master teachers Shiva Rea and Ana Forrest, as well as the Teacher-Assisting Programs with Lisa Black at Shakti Vinyasa Yoga in Seattle. Most recently she completed the Teacher Training Program with SloBody Yoga. Her decision to pursue teaching stems from a desire to help people live healthier and happier lives. She brings Conditioning-Infused Yoga to Red Square to explore the crossroads between yoga and fitness .
Sarah P’s Bio
Sarah Patton’s lifelong interest in movement lead her first to a career in dance and then to the field of Physical Therapy. She has practiced as a Physical Therapist for the past twenty years in the Seattle area. Sarah discovered the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education while recovering from a back injury and immediately became fascinated by this gentle and creative movement re-education form. She enrolled in a four year Feldenkrais® training program and in 2006 became a Feldenkrais Practitioner. Sarah is now excited to bring Awareness Through Movement® classes (ATM) to Queen Anne Hill.
Pamela’s Bio
Pamela Phillips-Blevins began studying Pilates over 20 years ago and quickly saw results. Along with noticeable core and all-over strength came a greater awareness of her movement and a newfound focus on well-being. Pamela received her training and earned her certification to teach Pilates in 2003 through Mind and Body Studio. She works with a diverse group of clients and is committed to finding the best solutions for each to achieve individual goals. She is dedicated to furthering her knowledge of movement and creating a strong balanced body by continuing to study under different teachers with a variety of approaches.
